Steve Pollack offers a unique form of
individual counseling based in the wisdom tradition of Nonviolent Communication. Referred to as NVC, it's an emotionally dynamic process pioneered by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. Neither a psychologist nor psychotherapist, Steve brings over a decade of experience adapting and customizing this powerful process to each client. He will support you unconditionally in achieving your goals of personal growth.
Maybe you've made progress with other forms of
communication counseling, but some of your goals still seem out of reach. If so, then you may benefit from Steve Pollack's
wisdom counseling.
"I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with years of experience, and I'd recommend Steve most highly for anyone who's dealing with communication blockages or emotional challenges. He's my go-to person for healing empathy because he has an amazing way of helping me to shift the way we look at things. He has a gift for translating even painful situations into a pure language of nonviolence and compassion, without any judgments. That's what really helps to clear the way for more enlightened solutions. I can count on him when I really need to be heard and supported on an emotional or deeply spiritual level. We've gotten insights into understanding precisely what everyone's unmet needs were in any situation, and support in finding sensible ways to get those needs expressed and fulfilled."
-- Monica Joseph, LMHC, Naples, FL"Mr. Pollack is able to communicate in such a way as to create a healthy, safe space for discussion. He does this while sometimes surprisingly also utilizing insightful wit and gentle humor to highlight salient issues.
-- Lenny Mujica LCSW, Dania Beach, FLRelated to the humanistic psychology of Carl Rogers, the approach is also known as
empathetic counseling. It involves providing as many layers of
empathy support as needed by the client before exploring creative strategies to achieve your specific goals.
When you face challenges relating with others, Steve shifts seamlessly into
communication coach mode. He expertly tailors your individual counseling to suit specific real-world relationship needs. The result is that you find your own inner wisdom. You will also learn powerful, nonviolent ways to express your true feelings and needs.
Mr. Pollack is not your average wisdom speaker, he is more like a healer that's communicating a message. A message that is so personal when delivered in a group session that you feel as though it's the two of you having a meaningful dialogue. A dialogue that soothes and comforts..."
-- Irwin Royster, Atlanta, GADistinguished from talk therapy in general, Steve's focused style of
communication counseling is highly specialized. That's why his work is best known as
wisdom counseling. It is truly rare in today's world of countless psychological modalities. Few of today's treatment options emphasize, for example, the crucial importance of
empathy support.
You may know the practical advantages of

TESTIMONIALS:
"Dear Steve: I had the chance last night to practice the skills we discussed yesterday regarding talking and listening to my son when he's upset. I put to use the idea of acknowledging more deeply his perceptions. It worked! I had something useful to say to him and he seemed to appreciate it. For this I am thankful and pleased that we talked and that you shared your knowledge and kind demeanor with me."
-- Stefanie Tatalias, Anchorage, AK"I have worked with Steve Pollack for a number of years. I continue to be enriched, cherished and assisted in my personal growth by practicing Nonviolent Communication counseling under his leadership. Steve is an empathic and caring facilitator who creates and maintains a safe container for rigorous and honest practice. To anyone interested in learning NVC, confronting personal crisis, or facilitating personal growth, I recommend him to you most highly."
-- Stephanie King, NVC practitioner, North Miami, FL Florida Teacher of the Year (2000)
"As I read through all that Steve has written ... I see a man who represents what I believe he would like to help others achieve in their own lives. Among other qualities, he is relaxed, comfortable, knowledgeable, skilled, focused, helpful and "in the moment," regardless of what else he may have going on in his life. His communication coach work is the key."
